I find that I spend a large amount of time manually aligning my image and text boxes with each other. A way to automatically align boxes would be extremely beneficial.
Part of the difficulty in aligning boxes perfectly is that the view is so small (even with my 24" monitor). It would be much easier to align boxes if users could switch between 1 page and double page view to get a closer look, rather than switching to preview and zooming in all the time.

Hi Jess,
Thanks for taking the time to give us your suggestions. We know the current 'Align to Grid' feature might not be the best method for all our users, especially those doing detailed layouts. To cater for this an upcoming featured in our next major version release will be a new aligning method. We'll be integrating a similar align feature as found in Illustrator CS4, where you can align to other images quickly via hovering 'edge/centre' lines. We'll also include snap to, and align to options as part of this.
Hello,
Can you please provide an update as to when this new software version will be available with the new alignment function?
I have created photo album and the majority of the creation time has been trying to get the photos to line up with each other. I have literally spent hours trying to get them lined with each other and i simply can not get them exact. I don't want to print out this album and have the photos out of alignment.
Hi Steven,
Our next major software release is on schedule for release in the 4th quarter of 2010. Along with new alignment functionality we will be including a long list of exciting new features and enhancements.
In the current version of our software there is grid which can be switched on and an 'Align to Grid' function which can be a great help to get images aligned. You can switch on the grid by navigating to the menu option: [View], [Show...], [Grid]. To turn on the 'Align to Grid' option select the 'Align to Grid' option from the [View] menu. Using the keyboard arrow keys is also a great way to nudge images by a small increment in one direction, very helpful when aligning image frames.
You can also change the grid spacing to suit your design. From the [File], [Settings..] menu select the [View] tab. From here you can select the unit of measurement and the width of the grid.
Hello,
Like Jessica, I too have been eagerly awaiting the new aligning tool. I have downloaded the most recent software 2.1.4 but it doesn't seem to be included in this upgrade. Is there another version coming soon that will include the new align tool?
Thank you.
Melissa
i want to add my support for this option - may it come quickly!. I just got an A3 book back, and while I'm pleased with it, among the fudges that I need to pay attention to next time are a LOT of places where I had an image maybe 1mm out of alignment with the one next to it - something obvious on the printed page, but impossible to properly verify one way or the other with the current software.
