To ensure your photobook contains no suprises our software includes a layout error checker. When images or text is placed the software automatically checks the resolution and placement and advises on any issues.
There are three levels of warnings
Error
Check
Info
The image does not have enough resolution to be printed at the size you have made it on the page. Images with bad resolution may print out pixelated (distorted & blurry) and we do not recommend you use them in your photobook.
The red bad resolution icon will appear on images with resolutions less than 150ppi at the placed size.

The image has an average (low) resolution for printing at the size you have made it on the page. Images with low resolution are acceptable for print however the image may loose sharpness and some light pixelation maybe visible when viewed very close.
The yellow low resolution icon will appear on images with resolutions between 150ppi to 250ppi at the placed size.

An image or text frame is placed over the middle of the book and that some parts of this object may be lost in the binding of the finished book. Please check that all critical elements of the photo (eg. faces) and all text be kept away from this area.
This is a warning message advising you to visually check the placement of the object - no action needs to be taken if you can see that no critical elements (eg. text or faces) are near the middle of the page

A text frame is placed over the dotted trim lines of the page. Please check to make sure that the text is inside of this line to ensure it will not be trimmed during the finishing of your book.

An information message to let you know that you have some unused image or text frames in your layout. No action needs to be taken as the empty frames will not be visible in your printed photobook.

On our PhotoCover books you can add a title to the spine of the book. Just go to the cover layout and double click between the dotted lines in the middle of the book to open the spine text editor.
